BBC London is the BBC English Region producing local radio, television, teletext and online services in London and parts of the surrounding area. Its output includes the daily BBC London News and weekly Sunday Politics on television, the BBC London 94.9 radio station and local coverage of the London area on BBC Online and BBC Red Button. The region's headquarters are situated in the new eastern extension of Broadcasting House. <br />
<br />
<b>HISTORY</b> <br />
<br />
BBC London News launched on 1 October 2001 following changes to the coverage areas of BBC transmitters allowing for the establishment of new editorial areas. The main result was a reorganisation of the BBC's South East region; the London area was to break away entirely, while a new programme, South East Today was to be created for the new South East region. BBC London, as it came to be called, replaced the long-running Newsroom South East. <br />

Greater London and its environs have had a regional BBC television news service for many decades, but the boundaries of the region have always been somewhat nebulous due to the coverage areas of the transmitters used, as television signals do not tend to stick neatly to administrative or historical boundaries. Therefore, while the main focus of "regional" news coverage for this area has always been on the capital itself, it has for much of the BBC's life had to offer coverage of other parts of the Home Counties as well. <br />
<br />
There were many incarnations of regional news programmes in this area before the current programme was introduced in 2001. These included the London segment of the Nationwide from Lime Grove Studios; in this case, the regional presenters for London were also usually the main presenters of the national sequence of the programme which followed. Other identities for the London area coverage were London Plus, and finally Newsroom South East. <br />
<br />
Originally, the BBC London and the South East region took in the whole of Greater London, together with parts of Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Sussex, Bedfordshire, and Oxfordshire. This meant that sizeable communities which probably deserved dedicated programming of their own - such as Oxford, Luton, Crawley and the Medway towns - were often ill-served by a London-biased programme. <br />
<br />
The area created for the BBC London programme to broadcast to now covers a much more tightly-defined area, chiefly Greater London but still including parts of Bedfordshire, Essex, and Hertfordshire in the East of England region and parts of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Kent, parts of South Oxfordshire, Surrey and Sussex in the South East England region. There is also some overlap with the editorial areas of other BBC regions in this part of England. <br />
<br />
Most of the south midlands, including Oxfordshire (excluding Henley-on-Thames), most of Buckinghamshire, north Berkshire, north east Wiltshire, south east Gloucestershire and south west Northamptonshire, now take an opt-out of South Today[1] while most of Kent and East Sussex is now covered by the new BBC South East region based in Tunbridge Wells, which produces South East Today.</div>

It was established in 1975 by Vidya Vilas Purie (owner of Thompson Press), with his daughter Madhu Trehan as its editor and his son Aroon Purie as its publisher.[3][4] At present, India Today is published in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

India Today is known to lean towards the right wing Bharatiya Janata Party of India. Many of its readers have raised this issue. Also, the chief editor Aroon Purie was charged with plagiarism; he copied 250 of the 400 words of an article of the US-based magazine Slate. India Today International—an edition of the weekly news magazine—is circulated across the world to enable people overseas to stay in touch with India.

<b>Dainik Jagran</b> (Hindi: दैनिक जागरण) is a Hindi-language daily newspaper in India. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations (India) and the Indian Readership Survey 2013 (IRS 2013), Dainik Jagran is the most read and circulated newspaper in India with an average Issue Readership (AIR) of 15.526 million. Dainik Jagran has now been the most read daily newspaper for the 26th consecutive time.It has also been declared by the World Association of Newspapers (WAN) as one of the most read newspapers in the world.It was also named as the most credible newspaper source in India in a survey commissioned by BBC-Reuters.The newspaper is owned by Jagran Prakashan Limited, a publishing house listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. Jagran Prakashan Limited also acquired Mid Day in 2010 and Naiduniya in 2012.

The newspaper has been alleged to offer "packages" to politicians to give them a favourable coverage.Although some of the politicians have acknowledged that they bought these "packages," the newspapers themselves have remained aloof and never accepted any wrongdoing on their part. The Election Commission gave notices to 4 newspapers for a 2008 case where Jagran was not named.

The Indian Express is an Indian English-language daily newspaper. It is published in Mumbai by Indian Express Group. In 1999, eight years after the group's founder Ramnath Goenka's death in 1991, the group was split between the family members. The southern editions taking the name The New Indian Express, while the northern editions, based in Mumbai, retaining the original Indian Express name, with "The" prefixed to the title.

In 1933 The Indian Express opened its second office in Madurai, launching the Tamil edition, Dinamani. Sadanand introduced several innovations and reduced the price of the newspaper. Faced with financial difficulties, he sold a part of his stake to Ramanath Goenka as convertible debentures. In 1935, when The Free Press Journal finally collapsed, and after a long and controversial court battle with Goenka, (where blows were exchanged between some of the parties), Sadanand lost ownership of Indian Express.

It is currently owned by the Punjab Kesari group (The Hindsamachar Ltd.). It is one of the three newspapers started by the group. The other two are Hind Samachar in Urdu and Jagbani in Punjabi languages.
